1. Retro 3-in-1 Breakfast Station – The Coolest of the Retro Kitchen Gadgets!
What’s so neat about this? It makes everything you’ll need for breakfast at once! Well it’s unusually groovy. Making it one of the coolest retro kitchen gadgets! You’ve got a grill, a toaster oven, and a coffee maker all in one appliance! You can make your eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage, ham, and or bacon on the grill on top. While toasting your bagels or toast, or even baking some biscuits.
Meanwhile, your coffee is brewing as well. And you’ll only use one cord, and one outlet! Of course, you could make breakfast at the same time using three appliances, one coffee pot, one griddle or frying pan, and one toaster oven. But what if you’re working with a small space, like in an RV, boat, or small kitchen? This is really cool for small spaces! And it’s retro looking! This would look cool in any 50s style kitchen!
What if you’re hungry for lunch instead?
Cool! You can make anything you want to cook in a toaster oven or a griddle! You can put in a 7-inch pizza in the toaster oven, or cook grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, or even steaks on the griddle.
This is big enough to make breakfast or brunch for an entire family. It makes 4 cups of coffee at a time, toasts 4 pieces of bread at the same time, the griddle has it’s own lid, and has a 30-minute timer with an automatic shut off. No need for coffee filters (wire mesh filter included), and came with a coffee scoop. The griddle and baking pan are removable in order for an easy clean up.
You can then store it, or keep it on the counter for your retro decor in your kitchen. But we have to take the good with the bad. The complaints are the lid as a little small, the griddle is a bit shallow. And you’ll have to use trial and error with the cooking times. You may have to keep an eye on the food to make sure it doesn’t burn.
- Looks good
- Easy to use.
- Fits in a small kitchen.
- Good price.
- Comes completely apart which makes it so easy to clean.
- Griddle lid is a little small.
- Griddle is shallow.
- No temperature control.
It’s ideal for college students, camping, efficiency/apartment dwellers, and maybe even for office workers as well! It’s not for everybody though. Some people love it, some hate it, it just depends on the person and the situation. If you have a small place, or want to cook with just one appliance, this is perfect for you!
2. Nostalgia Retro Kitchen Gadgets: The Pop-Up Hot Dog Toaster
What a cool little contraption! And it is one of the ultimate retro kitchen gadgets. This is perfect for a 50’s style kitchen. This contraption cooks hot dogs and hot dog buns at the same time. Instead of boiling or microwaving your hot dogs, just throw them in the especially made slots.
And instead of using a toaster oven to toast the buns, just pop them in the hot dog toaster with your hot dogs and push the button! It makes two hot dogs and two hot dog buns at the same time. And it also cooks frozen hot dogs!
How long does it take to cook the dogs? Do they cook all the way through? The timer goes up to five minutes, but you can start it again if you want to cook your dogs longer. You can also take the buns out sooner than the dogs. So some people prefer to cook them for 3 minutes and then turn them over and cook for another 3 minutes. It really depends on the individual.
And there’s a shut off switch as well if your hot dogs and buns are cooked to your liking. Tongs are included to help remove your dogs so you don’t burn yourself. The dogs are much tastier cooked this way rather than boiling or microwaving them.
Can you clean it? There’s a tray on the bottom that collects the hot dog juices, and is removable for easy cleaning. Simply slide it out to clean. The basket that the hot dogs sits in is removable for cleaning too. So no smelly hot dog grease!
- Cooks dogs and buns with one appliance.
- Fast and easy to use, cook in minutes.
- Much better taste than a microwave or boiling.
- Good price.Fast and easy to clean.
- You have to use only regular sized hot dogs and hot dog buns. Anything bigger won’t fit.
- You may be able to jam bigger ones in there but they’re hard to get out.
- Also, don’t use any hot dogs with cheese inside. The cheese could come out and spill all over the bottom. Then you’d have a cheesy mess to clean up!
3. Retro Style Toaster
To add to your collection of retro kitchen gadgets, this little awesome toaster is a great choice. Perfectly designed for the retro kitchen look. It can toast bagels even. And it has it’s own bagel button! Just place your bagels in the toaster, chose which setting you want it (it has six settings), push the lever down to lower the bagels into the toaster, and then push the bagel button.
You can do the same thing for frozen bread! Just place bread into the toaster, choose your setting, lower the lever, and push the defrost button. The average setting most people choose is three or four. That will give you a nice golden brown. But you can also choose to really go dark or light. 1 is the lightest setting and 6 is most you can go. It’s really about the individual tastes.
It even has a cancel button, if you notice your bread is toasting too much for your liking. It was made for little hands as well! When ready, the toast pops high enough for kids to grab with burning their hands. To clean up the crumbs, all you have to do is slide out the tray and empty into the trash.
- Safe and easy to use.
- Nice looking, compliments your kitchen.
- Fast toasting.
- Toasts bagels and frozen bread!
- Has a cancel button, and six setting options.
- Good price.
- Easy to clean.
- It only has an option for 2 slices of bread.
It’s a great toaster even if it just holds 2 slices of bread. It toasts fast, so you can place more slices of bread in if you need to. And it’s really nice looking. It’ll look good on your counter even if you don’t have a collection of retro kitchen gadgets!
4. Dash Mini Toaster Oven
Dash has all kinds of cute and retro kitchen gadgets, and this is one of them. This is the smallest toaster oven they make. It was made for a small kitchen, and maybe to cook food for just one or two people. Yes, you can make toast, but so much more!
You can bake and reheat whatever food that will fit in there! You can make individual pizzas, TV dinners, desserts, and more. It also is an energy saver. Being so small, it uses up a lot less power than a regular oven. If you’re on a budget, that’s good news! It has a dial temperature control, and the oven has a shut off option so it doesn’t over cook your food.
And cleaning is breeze, the rack, tray, and crumb plate are all dishwasher safe. It’s great for a home welcoming gift. Whether they just moved away from home, or as a wedding gift, anyone who has a small space will benefit from this.
- A great space saver.
- Can be used in RVs/boats.
- Great for picky people, who want to make their own meal.
- An energy saver.
- It’s easy to use.
- Super easy to clean.
- It stores away nicely.
- It may be too small for some people.
- Watch your food, because if you have the setting too high, it might burn.
Super Duper Air Fryer
- Cook great tasting food without using unhealthy oils.
- Has a temperature control, and a 30 minute timer.
What about an air fryer? These is another one of the clever retro kitchen gadgets. It can replace traditional deep frying! For one thing, it’s way healthier! Using air fryers instead, you reduce the need for oil by 70 percent or higher! Sometimes I don’t use any fats at all, and foods still taste great!
You can cook pretty much anything as well. You can heat up frozen treats, like jalapeno poppers, hot pockets, burritos, etch. Also you can bake chicken, steak, pork chops, etc. And it’s very energy efficient! My air fryer never warms up like my kitchen at all. I stand next to it while it’s cooking, and feel no heat around it whatsoever! That’s so not the case with an oven and even a toaster oven.
I’m happy about this because I don’t like heating up my kitchen in the summertime. It turns on my a/c more often. And in the summer I don’t like to cook, because of the hot weather. So this is a great choice if you want to eat healthier, and don’t want to heat up the kitchen, therefore saving energy, and lowering that electric bill!
The retro style is becoming more and more popular again! And because of this, the options to get the vintage look is really easy now. And there’s so many choices, this post just touched on a few of the many retro kitchen gadgets out there.
