This nut-free, gluten-free, keto Philly cheese steak casserole is ready in just under an hour! It is low in carbs and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs sirloin steak
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 120 g chopped green bell peppers
  • 8 oz white mushrooms, roughly chopped
  • 25 g thinly chopped yellow onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 5 oz provolone cheese slices

Directions:

  1. Cutting against the grain, slice steak into thin strips then cut slices into ½” pieces.
  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and spray 9×13″ baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. In a large pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and heat until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add sliced steak and cooked until browned. Transfer cooked steak to plate or bowl and set aside. Discard liquid from pan.
  4. To same pan over medium-high heat, add peppers, mushrooms, and onions and cook until vegetables are tender and liquid has evaporated, about 5-7 minutes. Remove pan from heat. Set aside.
  5. To a mixing bowl, add egg, shredded mozzarella, cream cheese,pepper, and salt and, using an electric mixer, mix until well-combined. Stir in cooked steak and vegetables.
  6. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish and place provolone cheese slices in even layer atop mixture. Transfer dish to middle oven rack to bake until edges of casserole are golden brown and bubbling, about 25 minutes, before removing dish from oven. Allow casserole to cool slightly before cutting and serving.

Recipe Notes:

Beef Substitution: You can sub in a leaner protein, like chicken or turkey, at a 1:1 ratio. Brown the meat you have chosen in the pan exactly as directed and follow all remaining instructions. This is a very loose interpretation of a “taco.” But it doesn’t make them any less delicious.

Yields: 6Prep Time: 10 minutesTotal Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 large slices Genoa salami
  • 6 slices deli ham
  • 1 cup iceberg lettuce
  • 6 slices provolone
  • 1/3 cup sliced cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup pepperoncini, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together oil and vinegar. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, and whisk to combine.
  2. Lay a slice of salami on a work surface and top with a slice of provolone and a slice of ham. Fill with some iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, pepperoncini, and olives. Drizzle with some dressing. Use a toothpick to gather into a taco and repeat with remaining ingredients.
  3. Serve with more dressing.

Yields: 2Prep Time: 10 minutesTotal Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 10 slices bacon
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 avocado, diced
  • 1 cup shredded romaine
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400° and place a wire rack over a large baking sheet. Place 5 slices bacon side by side. Lift one end of every other bacon slice and place another bacon slice on top of the lifted pieces. Lay slices back. Next, lift opposite bacon slices back and place a bacon slice on top. Lay slices back down. Repeat weaving process until you have a bacon weave of 5 strips by 5 strips. Set bacon weave on prepared baking sheet.
  2. Bake until bacon is cooked but still pliable, 20 minutes.
  3. Pat bacon weave with paper towels to drain fat and transfer to a piece of plastic wrap (it helps with rolling!)
  4. Spread mayo on top of bacon weave in a thin layer, then top bottom third of bacon weave with tomatoes and avocado. Sprinkle romaine all over and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Starting from the bottom, tightly roll, then slice crosswise into “sushi rolls”.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 2/3 c. shredded Mexican cheese
  • 1/2 c. shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 c. quartered grape tomatoes
  • Sour cream, for topping

Directions:

  1. Halve and pit avocados. Using a spoon, scoop out a bit of avocado, creating a larger well. Dice removed avocado and set aside to use later. Squeeze lime juice over all avocados (to prevent browning!).
  2. In a medium skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add onion and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Add ground beef and taco seasoning, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until the beef is no longer pink, about 6 minutes. Remove from heat and drain fat.
  3. Fill each avocado half with beef, then top with reserved avocado, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a dollop sour cream.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium zucchini
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 avocado, diced
  • 1 tsp sriracha hot sauce
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 1/2 carrot, cut into thin matchsticks
  • 1/2 cucumber, cut into thin matchsticks
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Directions:

  1. Using a vegetable peeler, slice each zucchini into thin flat strips. Place zucchini on paper towel–lined plate to sit while you prep the rest of your ingredients.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, Sriracha, and lime juice.
  3. On a cutting board, lay 2 zucchini slices down horizontally (so that the long side is facing you). Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on top, then top the left side with a pinch each of crab, carrot, avocado, and cucumber.

  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 4 large tomatoes

  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2/3 cup shredded cheddar
  • 1/4 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 4 pickle coins
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a medium skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add onion and cook until tender, about 5 minutes, then stir in garlic. Add ground beef, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, and cook until the beef is no longer pink, about 6 minutes. Drain fat. Season with salt and pepper, then stir in ketchup and mustard.
  2. Flip tomatoes so they are stem-side down. Cut the tomatoes into six wedges, being careful to not cut completely through the tomato. Carefully spread open the wedges. Divide cooked ground beef evenly among the tomatoes, then top each with cheese and lettuce.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 cup shredded Monterey Jack
  • 3 cup shredded cheddar
  • 4 cup shredded chicken
  • 1 avocado, thinly sliced
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • Sour cream, for serving

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400º and line two medium baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add pepper and onion and season with chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until soft, 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
  3. In a medium bowl, stir together cheeses. Add 1 1/2 cups of cheese mixture into the center of both prepared baking sheets. Spread into an even layer and shape into a circle, the size of a flour tortilla.
