Why would you buy an air fryer?
- It a healthy option compared to traditional frying.
Many people enjoy fried, greasy, oily food such as french fries, donuts, chips, as well as fried chicken. It’s a comfort food! And most of us really love indulging in a plate of fried food.
Even though it tastes great, eating traditional deep-fried food is usually high in bad fat and calories, leading to weight gain, high cholesterol, and other health problems.
With air frying, you’ll still get great tasting food, but it’s a lot healthier.
- Maybe you tired of cooking food the same old, pain in the butt, traditional way?
Here’s a common scenario:
You’re cooking dinner for the entire family, slaving away, and they want french fries as a side!
So you pull out that nasty, greasy, heavy deep fryer.
And then start heating oil in it, and when you start cooking with it, the oil splatters all over the place, all over the walls, the stove, and the counter top! Now you have a huge mess to clean up later!
It’s not just messy, that hot oil sometimes cause grease fires, and the splatter hurts if it hits your skin!
If you’re tired of cooking this way, then you should consider buying an air fryer!
Your fries will taste wonderful, but they won’t have all that fat and you won’t have clean up a huge mess. And you can cook way more than just fries! Just look at this list of possibilities:
Examples of the delicious healthy food you can make:
- Chicken wings
- Chicken nuggets
- Mozzerella sticks
- Pizza snacks – other frozen snacks or meals
- French fries
- Sweet potato wedges
- Tater tots
- Onion rings
- Okra, asparagus, mushrooms, zucinni
- Rotissere Chicken
- Egg rolls
- Crab cakes
- And much more!
As you can see this machine has great potential! And because you use little to no oil, you might even lose some weight while eating foods cooked with an air fryer.
More reasons to buy an air fryer:
No more foul smelling oil, or smoke taking over your house. No more occasional sogginess you get from a traditional fryer.
Maybe you’re tired of using your oven that heats up your house, raising your electricity bill.
Maybe you’ve been looking for a healthy alternative to fried foods, and you’ve wondered if air fryers are the best choice.
You can even cook keto foods with air fryers!
Maybe you’re on a diet, but don’t want to deprive yourself of your favorite foods.
An air fryer can replace your oven, microwave, and more. Therefore, lowering your electric bill!
Great times to use an air fryer:
- Football Sunday or Superbowl
- Forth of July
- Anytime! Any and every night if you wish!
We are going to be going through the pros and cons of the best air fryers to buy. But before we do that…
There’re things to consider before you buy an air fryer:
Air fryers usually start around $60 and go up to $300 or more. Of course with anything, you get what you pay for. For instance, the cheaper versions will most likely be of a low quality. And more expensive versions will be a better quality and will have more bells and whistles. So a more expensive one might be the best air fryer to buy.
Sizes vary too. These are typically made for the home and to fit on the counter top and be stored when not in use. The smallest can feed only one to two people at a time, and up to six or seven people at a time. If you need to cook more food than that, you’ll have to cook in batches. And that can be a pain if you have a lot of people to cook for. The smallest is usually 2 quarts and the biggest is around 5 or 6 quarts.
You can decide if you want an air fryer that comes with accessories. It just depends on what you want to cook. If you just want to heat up some frozen fries, all you’ll need is the basket it comes with. But you can decide on accessories like grill pans for grilling a juicy steak, fish, or chicken for example. Double layer racks, for making jerky! Skewers for kabobs! A rotisserie for making rotisserie chickens. A baking pan for cakes or muffins. The list goes on…
Ease of Use
This depends on your knowledge of how to use the air fryer. And also how long to cook the food, and at what temperature. You may want to get one with “dummy” buttons, the kind that tell you what to do. It’s also good to know if it’s made with a non-stick tray, and if it’s dishwasher safe.
The next thing to think about is quality. So what do you prefer? A cheap version that doesn’t break your wallet, but can literally break in a couple months? Or do you want to spend a little more money and get one that will last a lifetime?
A good quality machine will cook better as well. For instance, if you put a lot of food into a tray or basket, the food won’t cook evenly because the air can’t reach it. But with a higher quality machine, the air can reach more food, because the air is made to move around faster and with more force. Another example is that most people complain about the noise of the cheaper versions. The more expensive versions are virtually quiet.
Warranties varies too! I’ve seen warranties as long as two years to as short as 6 months! Of course, if your machine breaks at 7 months, you obviously bought a really bad machine! I wouldn’t buy a machine with a 6-month warranty for that reason alone. The six-month warranties are usually for the cheaper versions, and 2 years will be for the better quality, expensive ones. Now on with the list of the best air fryers to buy:
Here’s the Top 6 Best Air Fryers:
1. The Dash Delux Air Fryer:
This model is good one, but is it the best air fryer to buy? Well first off, it certainly boasts that it is. In detail the Dash says it does everything: cooking, baking, reheating, toasting…
First off, let’s get into what people love about it:
A Better Alternative to Traditional Frying
Using the air crisp technology, you can cut back the use of unhealthy vegetable oils to 80% and you’ll still get a fantastic, even better taste. And the smell of frying is no longer evident.
Big Enough For The Entire Family
Don’t let the picture fool you, it’s big enough to cook for the whole family! Make a ton of sides, and main courses. You can cook a whole chicken with this thing!
And it comes with a recipe book for your convenience. Whether you choose to cook fresh or frozen food, it all turns out great.
If you have guests over, you can make tons of appetizers, snack, and desserts.
And you can also make individual meals as well. And it cooks evenly, unlike a microwave.
It never gets too hot or too messy. It’ll change the way you cook!
Dash is simple, fast, and easy to prepare food and cook with. Just throw in a batch of frozen french fries, tater tots, chicken tenders, etc and air fry them up in minutes. The kids can help you cook, because it’s safer to use then a regular fryer. All you’ll have to do is whip up a quick recipe, place your food inside, set the timer, leave it. It’ll shut itself off when the meal is finished.
An even reheat food like pizza for example and it comes out crispy!
Great for picky eaters and those who are resistant to change!
Kids and big kids don’t notice the difference between real fried foods and foods cooked with Dash. Most prefer the foods cooked with Dash!
Great For Keto!
Makes great fathead pizza crust! And it’ll make really delicious, crispy chicken without the breading!
You can even toast bread and bagels in this thing! It also cooks eggs! Dash is like a fryer and an oven all in one!
It can replace your “ugly” toaster oven. It looks really good on the counter because of its design. Kind of looks like it’s from outer space doesn’t it? Could this be the best air fryer to buy?
It comes with a 1-year warranty. And has several colors to choose from: black, red, aqua, and white.
Okay, so there a lot of good things about this air fryer! What about the bad?
What’s annoying about it?
Well so far the only thing seems to be that it’s too big. This thing takes up a lot of space! (But so does a microwave, and most people have one! And food cooked from this is so much better than in the microwave, and it also cooks evenly! Can you say that about a microwave?)
This air fryer at 5 quarts is huge, but perfect for a family of 6. What’s good is if you don’t need one this big, you can get the smaller dash air fryer. Dash Compact is just as good, but not as big.
The knob is hard to turn back if you’ve pushed it too far, and there’s no pause button. When you check on the food, the time keeps ticking away, and you’ll have reset the time manually back to where it was.
The basket is hard to pull out and put back in. There’s also no warming option, this is a good thing to have if you’re not ready to eat yet, or busy, etc… The frying basket seems to be of a low quality.
What can’t you cook with it?
Maybe sausage, because of the excess oil.
When cooking fish, it might give out that fishy oder while cooking, but what doesn’t?
2. Coscori Air Fryer
Now let’s move on to the next one! This could be the best air fryer to buy!
Coscori says that you can air fry any type of meal. And that you’ll never need your oven anymore, and you’ll save time and oil.
Also, Coscori says it cooks with only 85% less fat. At the most, 1 tablespoon of oil is enough to cook a meal. And the unit still produces delicious and crispy food.
It has a square basket, which is said that you’ll have more food space than the round baskets. The machine is square shape so it takes up less counter space than the round machines.
It has a digital display, and has 11 preset push buttons. Those buttons are user-friendly. Meaning at a push of a button you can choose, fish, steak, chicken, etc. It even has an option for bread!
It keeps food warm, has an automatic shut off control, it is time adjustable, and runs from 170 to 400 degrees. And you can also raise and lower the temperature with a push of a button!
Dash vs Coscori:
Dash only has one knob that you turn, and that knob is hard to turn. Also, it doesn’t pause when you take the drawer out to check on the food. Nor does it have a shake reminder!
Coscori has both a pause button and a shake reminder!
Coscori comes with cookbook that has 100 recipes included as opposed to 20 recipes that Dash has.
There are also unlimited tutorial videos and recipes online.
Coscori is PFOA-free & BPA-free, and we are unsure if Dash is.
It is dishwasher safe, and has a 2-year warranty for free! Dash only has 1 year!
It seems like Coscori is the winner over the Dash Air Fryer. It just seems to be a better machine overall. Could this be the best air fryer to buy?
